Ware Charity of the Year

Left to Right: Citizens Advice East Herts CEO, Maxine Bromyard,  Mayor of Ware Cllr Thomas Day,  Citizens Advice East Herts Head of Communications & Fundraising, Esther McWatters and Deputy Mayor of Ware, Cllr Martin Butcher.

Citizens Advice East Herts is delighted to be chosen as Charity of the Year by the new Mayor of Ware, Cllr Thomas Day.  Citizens Advice East Herts provides high quality advice on a broad range of issues including benefits, debt, housing, consumer, family and relationships, immigration and health.  We have been helping Ware residents since 1940.

Last year we helped the people of Ware with 1,590 issues, gaining them £171,718 in income, reimbursements, debts written off and consumer issues resolved.  Needing advice on how to claim Personal Independence Payments and Universal Credit was the most common reason people got in touch, although a significant number of locals needed charitable support and food bank vouchers.

Maxine Bromyard, CEO of Citizens Advice East Herts says, “Ware Town Council has given us support over many years and we are thrilled and grateful to be the Mayor’s chosen charity. We have to fundraise in order to provide our free, advice service and we are looking forward to working with the Mayor and his team over the next year.”

If you need advice, call Citizens Advice East Herts Message Line 01920 459944 anytime (we aim to return calls within 24 hours, except weekends) or visit www.citizensadviceeastherts.org.uk for our advice options.
