Easter opening hours

24 hour local Message Line 01920 459944

Over Easter, our 24 hour Message Line remains open. If you live or work in East Herts or Uttlesford you can call our local Message Line at any time, leave a message with your details, and an adviser will call you back as soon as possible. Due to staff and volunteer holidays, it may take us a bit longer than usual to reply to your message. 

On the bank holidays, Good Friday 29nd March and Easter Monday 1st April, we will be closed and will return you messages from Tuesday 2nd April.

Ware Contact Centre will be closed on Tuesday 2nd April.

Throughout Christmas and New Year, our 24 hour Message Line remains open. If you live or work in East Herts or Uttlesford you can call our local Message Line at any time, leave a message with your details, and an adviser will call you back as soon as possible.

Due to staff and volunteer holidays, it may take us a bit longer than usual to reply to your message. Please find below a list of times over the Festive period when call backs will be made.

    Friday 22nd December 10am - 2pm
    Monday 25th December No callbacks
    Tuesday 26th December No callbacks

    Wednesday 27th December 10am - 4pm
    Thursday 28th December 10am - 4pm
    Friday 29th December 10am - 2pm
    Monday 1st January No callbacks
    Tuesday 2nd January onwards - hours as usual.

CONTACT CENTRES

Please note all Contact Centres will be closed over the Festive period – 25th December to 1st January but will be open from Tuesday 2nd January. Ware Contact Centre will be closed on 19th December and 2nd January.

For people who really need them, we’re able to offer face to face appointments and home visits.

If you live or work in East Herts or Uttlesford you can call our local Message Line Monday to Thursday, leave a message with your details, and an adviser will call you back as soon as possible (we aim to respond within 3 working days).

Our call backs are made between Monday to Thursday, 10am to 4pm. We’ll call you 3 times, and if we’re not able to get through, you’ll need to contact us again if you still need our help.

Our advisers are available: Monday to Wednesday 4pm to 8pm, Thursday and Friday 4pm to 9pm, and Saturday 10am to 4pm

British Sign Language Service

You can contact our Deaf British Sign Language (BSL) Adviser via a WhatsApp video call on 07942 348149
Monday to Thursday, 8am to 4pm. You can also send a text message to 07942 348149 or send an email to bsl@whcab.org.uk. Our BSL Adviser will contact you as soon as possible.

Contact Centres

If you don’t have a phone or you’re not confident with technology, we’ll help you get advice another way. Visit a contact centre and our friendly team will listen to what’s happening, and help you work out what to do next. We might arrange a face to face appointment at your home or in a community space, or we might be able to give you the details of another organisation that can help you. Each contact centre has a free phone and computers that you can use. You might need to call other organisations or look up information online to help you with your problem. Our team can help you find what you need on our website if you need support.
