Did you know that Citizens Advice East Herts is an independent charity?
Although we are part of the national Citizens Advice network, many people don’t realise that our core service is not paid for by National Citizens Advice. Our volunteers generously give their time for free, but it still costs us approximately £225,000 a year to run our core service.
These are challenging times. To pay for our service we apply for grants from our local councils, the National Lottery, as well as grant making trusts and foundations, but we also need the support of our local community – both businesses and individuals – to ensure that we raise enough money to be able to continue to provide our free advice service for anyone living or working in East Herts.
And there is also so much more we could do! Our statistics show us that the demand for our service is greater than we are able to meet. We would therefore like to recruit more advisers and extend our opening hours to reach more clients – either face-to-face, on the telephone, by email or webchat – and we would also like to be able to offer more projects (funded separately from our core service) to be able to help more of the most disadvantaged people in our area. But as you can imagine, this all costs money.
By making a donation, you will be making a difference.
Thank you for helping us to help the people of East Herts.
